Cats Purr to Heal

Hillsborough. NC — Recent studies are revealing how purring may be the secret to cats’ nine lives. City Hall connects to Police Department with Maxtech Wireless LAN

Anderson, CA (January 29, 1999) — Serving a small town of 9,000 residents, the
Anderson Police Department works closely with the administrators in the city hall building. With limited funds, the two buildings needed to share resources in order to maximize productivity and efficiency. The two buildings stand nearly a half-mile apart.  With increased need for city workers to share files between buildings, they found that they were spending too much time waiting for dial-up modems to send data over old-fashioned phone lines.

City Finance Director Dana Shigley concluded that this expensive use of resources could be remedied by tying the two NT servers into one network. The only question was how to connect the two distant buildings in a way that the small city could afford. Guy Lemke of the local Com-pair Corporation was called in to shed light on the new technology of wireless LAN. Lemke explained how a Maxtech wireless LAN system could transmit data rapidly, easily and inexpensively between the two distant buildings.

It took less than one day for Com-Pair to install the Maxtech LANescape system between city hall and the police department. The entire wireless LAN system cost the city less than $3,000. The workers in the two buildings can now transfer files, send email, share the Internet and output big print jobs with the speed and efficiency of a local area network.  Dana Shigley was elated over the fact that the LANescape system would pay for itself many times over compared to the cost of leasing a Tl line from Pacific Bell. “The wireless LANescape system from Maxtech was quick and easy to install,” states Shigley.  “The LANescape installation provided a dramatic costs savings over Tl line options and

 Infrasound Proves Effective Therapy in Sports Medicine

San Clemente, CA (April 18, 2001) – New research provides compelling evidence that infrasound therapy accelerates recovery of damaged muscles in athletes. Athletes are always seeking a competitive edge, so any therapy that can speed healing or increase performance is a much sought-after tool. Dr Ronald Riegel recently measured overwhelming effectiveness in two separate controlled studies released in April. The effectiveness of infrasound was proven when each of the 22 subjects showed improvement, while most in the control group showed further deterioration.

Athletes are always seeking a competitive edge in the top echelons of competition, such as the Olympics, the difference between championship and defeat is often measured in milliseconds. Broken bones, torn ligaments, sprained ankles and pulled muscles are obstacles that aggressive athletes must face, so quick recovery from injuries often makes the crucial difference for competitors.

Dr. Ronald J. Riegel, DVM and certified human neurophysiologist, has been involved m the athletic industry for over four decades as an athlete, coach, doctor and researcher. When Dr. Riegel used the Infratonic QGM, a therapeutic infrasound device from CHI Institute, on 12 humans and 10 racehorses, he observed a substantial athletic improvement in human and equine athletes.
Dr. Riegel then decided to put the infrasound device to the test using serological and thermograph analysis before and after infrasound treatments on injured athletes. The results were overwhelmingly positive. Blood chemistry analysis of CPK and AST showed improvement in muscle-specific diagnostic enzymes, revealing that infrasound strengthened the cell walls. Thermograms also showed decreases in joint inflammation in all subjects, with no negative side effects. Dr. Riegel states, “The most significant finding of all was that the human athletes played better and all horses in the treatment group were pacing faster, with an average decrease of 1.65 seconds.”

When searching for the mechanism responsible for healing effectiveness of infrasound, researchers are somewhat puzzled.  While the complete answer may await us in the future, we can review what we have learned to date. In 1978, scientists found that certain wavelengths of low frequency sound waves induced beneficial changes in measured EEG.  Biochemical structures convert sound waves to electrical signals. Bands of EEG activity provide varying functionality, such as Delta relating to sleep, Alpha to clarity, and Beta to cognitive problem solving.  Doctor Riegel’s research shows us that when infrasound induces alpha locally into traumatized tissue, healing is accelerated. Inflammation, edema and injured muscle cells quickly return to normal, leading to accelerated recovery and optimal athletic performance.
